How Lane Kiffin has accepted his daughter's relationship with an LSU star

Several narratives emerged during Ole Miss’ recent win over LSU on Saturday.

In an interview after the Rebels secured a 24-19 win, coach Lane Kiffin shared insights about off-field happenings that caught everyone’s attention, particularly surrounding this SEC matchup. “I can’t say I dealt with this when I was younger, but now it’s just part of the environment, and I really embrace things like the transfer portal, social media, and all of it,” he mentioned to Kirk Herbstreit and Joey Galloway.

Kiffin reflected on how he was watching game footage the day before and thought, “This feels like something out of a movie or a TV show,” highlighting moments like a budding romance involving Whit Weeks and displaying his family in the stands, almost cinematic in feel.

Just days ahead of Saturday’s game, Landry, Kiffin’s daughter, stirred up social media with her own romance shared via Instagram, coming from Watkinsville, Georgia.

As her posts gained traction online, Kiffin responded to a comment on them with a lighthearted remark, implying that more excitement may be around the corner.

In the game, Weeks, who was spotted on camera, made his presence felt with three solo tackles against Ole Miss.

Kiffin remarked he had trouble connecting with Weeks after the match. “I tried to find him, but he was already off down the tunnel. You know how it is; it’s not the best time for casual chats on the losing side,” he commented.

Now in his sixth year coaching Ole Miss, Kiffin previously expressed similar thoughts during a Wednesday appearance on “Pardon My Take.” He said, “Whitt comes from a great family, and I think to myself, how blessed you are to have someone like that in your life.”

With this win, Ole Miss remains undefeated and is set to face Washington State on October 11th.
