Federal agents conducted a significant operation at Chicas Bonitas Cabaret in Dallas, resulting in dozens of arrests of suspected illegal immigrants and the seizure of around $30,000 in cash. This action took place on Friday, led by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Dallas, with the help of various law enforcement agencies. They executed a search warrant based on allegations of human trafficking and illegal employment.
In total, authorities detained 41 individuals, with 29 of them believed to be working unlawfully at the venue. Most were apprehended under immigration enforcement and removal processes due to administrative violations.
Among those arrested, several had prior criminal records. For instance, Julios Cesar Martinez, 47, and Victor Manuel Manzano Ramirez, also 47, both from Mexico, had been convicted of multiple offenses, including illegal entry and driving under the influence. Gustave Rojas Garda, another suspect, faced charges related to DUI, and Genaro Diaz-Perez, 44, was previously convicted of prostitution.
One individual, Juan Carlos Salas Medina, a 30-year-old from Mexico, has allegedly entered the U.S. unlawfully ten times and has a history of serious criminal charges, including assault and drug possession.
In addition to the arrests, HSI Dallas is currently investigating the club’s activities. They’ve also seized business records as part of this ongoing inquiry.
The operation has raised discussions about immigration-related crimes, particularly sexual offenses, with some linking these issues to current U.S. border policies. Local business owners reported no unusual activities at the cabaret before the raid but mentioned a noticeable decline in business since.
HSI Dallas agents emphasized their commitment to addressing sex trafficking within the community, stating their goal to disrupt such activities and identify potential victims.
