Elon Musk Calls for Netflix Cancellations
Elon Musk took to X on Wednesday, encouraging people to cancel their Netflix subscriptions “for the sake of their children.”
“Cancel Netflix for your child’s health,” Musk proclaimed, sharing a post from another user. He emphasized, “I’ll protect your child. Cancel Netflix. Cancel Netflix,” along with an image depicting a Trojan horse labeled “transgender propaganda.”
This comes as Musk appears to be contributing to a growing trend of Netflix cancellations. Notably, Hamish Steele, the creator of Netflix’s children’s cartoon, faced backlash on social media, while the late Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was labeled as a “Nazi.”
Steele has created a Netflix manga series titled Dead End: Paranormal Park, which features a storyline involving a transgender character aimed at kids.
Despite the cancellation of Dead End in 2023, Steele’s recent remarks regarding Kirk seem to have reignited discussions about the nature of children’s content he produces. The series’ transgender themes have gained viral attention online.
A popular TikTok account, Libs of TikTok, shared a clip from the show on Monday, illustrating a conversation in which one character discloses their transgender identity to another, raising eyebrows.

“This isn’t appropriate for a 7-year-old, but Netflix seems to think otherwise. Parents need to monitor what their children are watching,” remarked internet personality Jeffery Mead in response to the clip.
In the same video, Mead highlighted that Dead End: Paranormal Park is rated suitable for children over 7 years old.
“I’m not sure why 7-year-olds need exposure to this ideology right now; it feels a bit too young, especially since it’s on Netflix,” Mead stated. “Is it necessary for a 7-year-old to encounter this? No, it’s not.”
Mead urged parents to “pay close attention to what your kids are seeing.”
Musk replied to Mead’s post, saying, “Yeah, this is a mess. It’s not okay for kids.”
