Discussion on California’s Healthcare and Immigration Issues
During a recent segment on NewsNation Now, Rep. Mike Levin (D-CA) addressed the financial responsibilities taxpayers face regarding emergency healthcare for undocumented immigrants. He highlighted that California is grappling with challenges linked to illegal immigration and the healthcare system.
Host Connail McShane pointed out that, as per healthcare experts in Southern California in 2023, the influx of undocumented immigrants has strained the healthcare system, resulting in longer wait times for American patients seeking care.
“While I often find it hard to accept everything Caroline Levitt says at face value, the situation here is quite clear—and it’s not solely about providing medical care to undocumented immigrants. Many of these tax credits were sent to California mailboxes on October 15th, and for those without means, affording care remains a significant issue, which could ultimately drive up costs for everyone,” Levin added.
