(News Nation) – Major grocery chain Kroger is recalling two pasta salad products due to possible listeria contamination. This notice came out on Saturday, following an announcement by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The affected items are the Basil Pesto Bowtie Salad and the Smoked Mozzarella Penne Salad, both available for purchase between August 29 and October 2. The salads were sold at deli counters and in grab-and-go packages across about 1,860 Kroger Family Stores, including locations in states like Colorado, Georgia, and Texas.
As of now, there haven’t been any reported illnesses linked to this recall. However, the FDA has advised anyone worried about potential health issues to reach out to their healthcare provider.
Customers with inquiries concerning the recall can contact Kroger at 1-800-Krogers. Their customer service is available Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 12 AM, and Saturday and Sunday from 8 AM to 9 AM.
This recall adds to ongoing concerns about listeria outbreaks associated with ready-to-eat pasta products sold nationally. As of September 30, there have been four reported deaths and numerous hospitalizations linked to these outbreaks across 15 states.
