The survey posed the question, “Do you think they’ll win the government shutdown? Who is the Democrat or Republican?”
Overall, 62% predicted a Republican victory, while only 38% thought Democrats would succeed.
Republicans display a strong belief in their victory—92% feel confident. Even 62% of independents think Republicans will win.
Conversely, 70% of Democrats are optimistic about their chances. This perspective seems to stem from their unwillingness to keep spending levels consistent with those during the Covid era and their hesitation to frame this as a healthcare issue.

The Democrats have shut down the US government in the midst of one of the most successful economies, including the record stock market our country has ever had. This, unfortunately, has affected numerous programs and services that Americans depend on. While I’m willing to collaborate with Democrats on their healthcare policies, they first need to allow our government to reopen. Ideally, they should do so tonight!
