Emmy-winning actress and pro-Israel advocate Patricia Heaton has issued a warning to Americans regarding the dangers of not opposing anti-Semitism and the rise of anti-Western sentiments, particularly in light of the Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel on October 7, 2023. She cautioned that inaction could lead to another situation akin to 9/11.
Heaton, alongside Brooke Goldstein, founder of “#EndJewHatred” and the “Lawfare Project,” discussed these pressing issues with Fox News Digital. They noted that anti-Semitism and radical Islam are threats not just to Jewish communities, but to all Americans.
Heaton expressed disbelief at the possibility of experiencing another 9/11 if awareness doesn’t increase. Goldstein echoed this sentiment, stating that Americans have largely overlooked the dangers posed by radical Islamists but are starting to recognize the issue once more.
“It feels like we’re coming back to this awareness,” Goldstein reflected. “After all, why did it take so long for us to react after 9/11 when we saw Muslim extremists commit such horrific acts?”
Heaton pointed out that since September 11, 2001, there’s been a prevailing notion that criticism of radical Islam equates to Islamophobia.
“In the aftermath of 9/11, there was this orchestrated campaign that labeled anyone addressing radical Islam as Islamophobic or racist,” Goldstein stated.
He emphasized that the atrocities committed by Hamas, which resulted in over 1,500 fatalities in Israel, signify an assault on Western civilization itself.
Heaton noted the importance of recognizing these actions as a direct threat. “We have American civilians who were brutally attacked, some taken hostage in Gaza. This isn’t just about Israel; it’s an attack on Western democracy,” she asserted. “It’s being fueled by Islamic states funding militant groups.”
Heaton expressed disappointment over the acceptance of anti-Israel propaganda by many around the globe, criticizing those who align themselves with extremists aiming to undermine Western values.
“I honestly expected to see Americans rise in support of Israel following October 7th, with mass protests condemning the atrocities. Instead, we witnessed silence and support for the very groups responsible for this horror,” she shared.
Heaton conveyed her anger towards the widespread support for perpetrators of violence, deeming it outrageous. She associated her experience with the “October 7th Alliance,” a network aimed at combating anti-Semitism among Christians in the U.S.
According to their mission, they affirm Israel’s right to exist while rejecting anti-Semitism and seeking to strengthen relationships between Jewish and Christian communities.
Heaton is advocating for Christians to protect Jewish individuals, framing these attacks as a threat to everyone, not just Jews. “We must recognize that attacks on Jews are inherently attacks on all of us who value democracy and share common moral principles,” she stated. “We need to remember the horror of 9/11 and take these ongoing attacks seriously.”
