Giants Prepare for Upcoming Game Against Eagles

This week, the Giants held a brief walkthrough on Tuesday. If they had conducted a full practice, wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring) and right tackle Jermaine Elmnoll (back) likely wouldn’t have taken part.

Head coach Brian Daboll expressed some optimism about Elmnoll’s potential return for the game against the Eagles on Thursday night. However, he seemed less confident about Slayton’s chances. The team plans to wait until game time to finalize their decision on his availability.

This situation could complicate the offense, particularly affecting their top weapon, Malik Narvers.

In the absence of Slayton, rookie Jackson Dirt, who had just 18 yards as a tight end in last week’s 26-13 loss to the Saints, would likely need to step up further.

Last week marked one of Slayton’s poorest performances in his seven-year career, notably hindered by his inability to carry the ball and a lost fumble in the second quarter.

If Slayton can’t play, expect the team to bring in some practice squad receivers, possibly including Lil Jordan Humphrey.

“Let’s see where Slay is,” Daboll noted. “If Slay can’t go, we’ll probably make some adjustments. I want to evaluate how he’s feeling in the next few days.”

Dart, recovering from a hamstring issue, has returned to full participation in practice, expressing enthusiasm about his condition.

Meanwhile, defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence missed practice all week due to illness. Last week, he played only 31 snaps out of New Orleans’ 66 defensive plays.

“I felt a bit lightheaded at times, but nothing serious. I think I had a solid game plan,” Lawrence commented. When asked if he was back to 100%, he assured, “Yeah, yeah.”

Additionally, linebacker Swayze Bozeman (ankle) and linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (hamstring) were also reported as non-participants if the Giants had fully practiced.
