Freida Parton Talks About Dolly’s Health
Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida, has shared some concerning news regarding the iconic singer’s health.
On Tuesday, she took to Facebook to request prayers for her 79-year-old sister, noting that Dolly had postponed her shows in Las Vegas due to health-related issues. However, a follow-up statement from Freida offered more clarity about Dolly’s condition.
“I want to clarify,” Freida wrote. “I didn’t mean to alarm anyone with my earlier message or to suggest a dire situation.” She added, “Dolly was just feeling a bit under the weather, and as a sister, I asked for prayers because I believe in their power.” It seemed to be a simple request from a concerned sibling.
Dolly’s agent, Olly Rowland, later explained, “It’s just a kidney stone, and she needed a procedure to address it. Freida’s post may have made it sound more serious than it is.” The Las Vegas Review Journal reached out for further comments from Dolly’s team.
Earlier on Facebook, Freida mentioned she had spent the night praying for Dolly, saying, “I believe in the power of prayer and wanted people around the world who love her to join me.” She firmly stated, “Dolly is strong, she is loved, and I trust that she will overcome this health hurdle because she has been supported by countless prayers.”
“Godspeed, dear Dolly,” Freida concluded. “We all love you!”
Last month, Dolly had announced she would be postponing six shows originally set for December in Las Vegas until September 2026 to prioritize her health. She humorously remarked about needing procedures and joked, “It’s time for my ancient physical.”
Reflecting on her situation, she said, “Honestly, I can’t rehearse the way I want to and deliver the show you deserve.” She also reassured fans, saying, “Don’t worry about me quitting. God hasn’t indicated that yet.”
Dolly had previously missed a Dollywood event in September due to kidney stone pain, where she revealed to fans that she had been advised by doctors not to travel. She mentioned, “There was an infection, and the doctor recommended I take some time to recover.”
