Cody Johnson Cancels 2025 Tour Dates Due to Health Issues

For Cody Johnson, health has taken center stage in his life. The country singer announced on Tuesday the cancellation of all remaining tour dates for 2025 after doctors found ruptured eardrums that need urgent surgery.

The 38-year-old expressed his disappointment in an Instagram statement: “I have a very heavy heart that I have to share the rest of this year’s concert performance. The eardrums were ruptured while fighting a severe upper respiratory tract and sinus infection. The severity of the rupture means that immediate surgery is required.”

Johnson, well-known for hits like “Half Song” and “Dirt Cheap,” noted that recovery would take some time and that he wouldn’t be able to perform until further notice. He said, “The healing process takes weeks and I can’t sing during this time. Without surgery, my downtime could be months. I pray for complete healing, I can get better and go back to doing what I love. I want to thank Cojo Nation for always giving me love and support.”

This sudden cancellation follows a previous postponement of a show in Columbus, Ohio, due to a rapid, severe illness earlier this month. Johnson had said, “I woke up without a song. A severe cough, burning my chest and throat.” His concern for fans was evident: “I apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience. I love you all. I’m very grateful for your understanding and loyalty. I hate to disappoint you, but the last thing I want is for you to spend your money and time on a show that I didn’t think was ‘my best.’

With six shows left on his tour schedule, fans are advised to check their inbox for updates. During this challenging time, Johnson recently found himself having to abruptly stop a performance when a brawl broke out in the audience.
