Florida Man Arrested with Unusual Contraband
A Florida man finds himself in a peculiar situation after being arrested on drug possession charges. Walter Freimeyer, 51, allegedly shoved a thermos flask inside his rectum prior to his arrest, according to authorities.
Freimeyer’s latest run-in with the law occurred on Saturday evening when police investigated a report of a naked individual in a public restroom at a park. However, by the time officers arrived, he was fully clothed.
Initially, he was released as there were no technical violations noted. But soon after, he reportedly crossed the street and trespassed onto nearby railroad tracks. That’s when police developed further suspicions.
During questioning, a deputy discovered a glass pipe with residue consistent with methamphetamine. Freimeyer confessed to using meth for nearly three decades, based on a police affidavit.
With this evidence on hand, he faced charges for criminal trespass and possession of meth. He was taken to the local county jail, where a body scanner later revealed an obstruction within his body.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd expressed disbelief at the discovery. “I told you about meth doing crazy things to you, right? You wouldn’t believe it,” he remarked.
X-rays clearly indicated that a foreign object—identified as the thermos—was lodged from his lower back to his ribs. Freimeyer clarified that he “did not swallow” it.
Judd humorously noted, “You might have thought Walter was bringing drugs into the jail. He brought a thermos into the jail.” He even displayed the thermos, which he estimated matched the size of the one inside Freimeyer.
Freimeyer was sent to a specialist who surgically removed the thermos before he was eventually booked into prison.
Judd commented, “The deputy saved his life, even after Walter threatened him for making the arrest.” It remains unclear whether the thermos contained anything, but no further charges were filed since it was deemed a contraband item.
Concluding with an incredulous remark, Judd stated, “I can’t believe it. I’ve never seen it. Get another cup of coffee.” Over the years, he has famously used creative methods and props to communicate details of crime in Polk County, garnering a bit of celebrity status in the process.
In a lighter vein, Judd once showcased a gold chain belonging to a drug smuggling suspect and even joked about a suspect who “made a mess” before being captured shortly after challenging law enforcement.
