Jimmy Kimmel aims to have Donald Trump on his late-night program following a long-standing conflict

Jimmy Kimmel Open to Trump’s Guest Appearance

Jimmy Kimmel has expressed a willingness to invite President Trump onto “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” This unexpected statement came during a panel discussion at NYA Studios, part of the “Bloomberg Screentime” event, where various pop culture figures gathered.

“Of course we would love to have Mr. Trump on the show,” Kimmel mentioned, adding with a bit of humor that he’d indeed make the request.

Page Six reached out to Trump’s team for any comments, but there hasn’t been a reply yet.

This wouldn’t be Trump’s first visit to Kimmel’s show; he previously appeared as a guest back in May 2016. However, there’s been tension between the two over the years. Recently, Trump seemed pleased about a controversial joke that led to Kimmel’s brief suspension from ABC, where he quipped on air about a conservative activist.

After Kimmel joked that the individual responsible was likely connected to Trump’s supporters, the fallout sparked a reaction. In September, Trump expressed his approval over Kimmel’s temporary absence from the air, labeling it a sign of “great news for America” and questioning Kimmel’s talent. But, due to public backlash and concerns about free speech, Kimmel eventually made a return to television.

In spite of the ongoing friction, Kimmel reiterated during the panel that his intention is to address the news of the day, which frequently includes significant political stories.

He reflected on his interest in politics, noting that while he wasn’t always politically active, the current situation necessitates that he address these issues more openly. “I think my job is to talk about the news of the day,” he concluded.
