Dolly Parton recently shared a lively video addressing health concerns circulating about her. In the clip, she reassured her fans, humorously remarking that she’s “not going to die” and encouraging them to keep her in their prayers. This update came shortly after she had to postpone some Las Vegas concerts due to health issues, which was further compounded by her sister’s prayer request for their brother, sparking even more speculation.
In the video, set in a studio where she was recording a commercial for the Grand Ole Opry, Parton appeared cheerful. “Everyone thinks I’m sicker than I actually am. Do I look sick to you?” she asked, wearing a smile.
She expressed gratitude for her fans’ concern, stating, “I appreciate your prayers because I’m a person of faith. I can always use prayer for everything.” Ultimately, she wanted to clarify that she is doing alright.
Parton acknowledged she has been dealing with some health problems, which she neglected while looking after her late husband, Carl. However, she mentioned these issues are manageable. “Because I didn’t take care of myself, I let go of a lot of things that I should have taken care of,” she reflected.
“The doctor said, ‘You’ve got to be careful about this, you’ve got to be careful about that.’ It’s no big deal, but I had to cancel some things to be closer to home and closer to Vanderbilt,” she noted, referring to the medical facilities she’s been utilizing.
Despite undergoing some treatments, she reassured everyone, saying, “I want you to know that I’m not going to die.” Parton also made light of a circulating AI-generated image showing Reba McEntire visiting her at her supposed deathbed, laughing, “We both looked like we should be buried.”
