Overweight New York attorney harassed girlfriend and shared intimate photos after their split: Lawsuit

A Long Island lawyer has been accused of subjecting his significantly younger lover to years of harassment. Allegations include secretly installing cameras in her apartment, using a tracking device in her car, and monitoring her computer activity through a keystroke recorder.

Ronald David Ingber supposedly manipulated a Bergen County woman into cutting ties with her family and then sent explicit photos and videos to her friends and relatives when she attempted to leave, as claimed in a lawsuit.

The woman, referred to as Jane Doe in court documents, mentioned that her intimate encounters with Ingber, 52, were difficult. At over 550 pounds, Ingber struggled with personal hygiene, which she cited as a factor in her discomfort during their relationship, adding that she dealt with painful boils afterward.

She also alleged that he transmitted herpes to her and misrepresented his marital situation, claiming he was in the process of divorcing his wife when they met online in 2018.

Ingber reportedly persuaded her to quit her job and relocate to a shared apartment in Nassau County, where he controlled various aspects of her life. The lawsuit claims the couple was under investigation in New Jersey, and he assured her he would keep her safe.

Jane Doe stated he conducted extensive surveillance on her, making it challenging for her to escape or end their four-year relationship, asserting that he was her sole ally while actually being the source of her distress.

She accused Ingber of hacking her devices, gaining access to her emails, and interfering with her ability to manage her phone and content. Jane Doe expressed her exhaustion from living in fear of being tracked by Ingber and seeks freedom from his hold.

She is pursuing $150,000 for each illegal image sent by Ingber and additional compensation for privacy invasion and emotional distress.

Ingber’s attorney strongly refuted the allegations, asserting that they are false and expressing confidence that a thorough examination of the case would vindicate him and reveal Jane Doe’s motives.
