Helicopter Crash in Huntington Beach Hospitalizes Five
Authorities confirmed that five individuals were hospitalized following a helicopter crash in Huntington Beach, California, on Saturday.
A spokesperson from the Huntington Beach Fire Department stated that “the two people on board the helicopter have been safely removed from the wreckage, while three individuals on the road suffered injuries.”
All five were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to the spokesperson.
Tim Robinson, a local resident who witnessed the incident, captured video showing the helicopter lodged between a building and several palm trees. “At first, I thought it was a movie,” he shared. “It seemed like a pretty crazy stunt. Then it spun around a few times before crashing. It was shocking.”
Robinson also mentioned that he regularly walks along the coast and that the event “Cars and Copters by the Coast” was happening nearby. He remarked, “As the helicopter descended, I heard a pinging noise and then parts flew off. I’m not sure what happened, but that’s when it started spinning out of control.”
The cause of the crash remains unclear, and an investigation is currently underway.
