Allegations of Misconduct in Film Production
Justin Baldoni’s former agent, Danny Greenberg, has made serious claims about Blake Lively’s actions on the set of the 2024 film “Extortion,” describing them as akin to “blackmail” in court documents.
According to these documents, a WME agent who represented Baldoni during the film’s production proposed that he send a letter to Sony in July 2024 concerning Lively’s purported attempts to “take control” of the project.
During his testimony, Greenberg indicated that he used the term “extortion” to describe how Lively’s behavior impacted Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios.
He elaborated on Lively’s intentions, mentioning “ongoing conversations” with Sony’s production executive Ange Giannetti about the actress’s conduct during the film’s development.
In reference to the film’s upcoming premiere in New York, scheduled for August 2024, Greenberg shared that Baldoni was reportedly guided into a basement area to prevent an encounter with Lively on the red carpet.
A representative for Lively responded, asserting that the court had already dismissed claims of “movie hijacking.” They emphasized that the excerpts from depositions didn’t offer anything new, and the court even hypothesized the truth of the claims before ruling them legally invalid. The spokesperson also suggested these accusations were merely a diversion unrelated to the primary lawsuit involving Baldoni and Wayfair.
No immediate response was received from Baldoni’s representative to these recent claims.
The tension between the co-stars seemed to ignite when they were seen promoting Colleen Hoover’s film adaptation together at a New York premiere.
Lively, in a sexual harassment claim filed in December 2024, accused Baldoni of exhibiting inappropriate behavior, including showing her explicit videos and making personal comments about her past and appearance. She accused him of running a smear campaign that negatively affected her career.
These allegations were reiterated in a formal lawsuit filed shortly thereafter, and both parties have been locked in legal battles since then.
Baldoni’s legal team dismissed the allegations as false, asserting they were intended to damage his reputation. They noted, somewhat pointedly, that he had engaged a crisis manager to handle Lively’s supposed “multiple demands and threats.”
Baldoni has since filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, alleging that she utilized their influence to manipulate the situation in her favor.
Additionally, he accused Reynolds of exhibiting aggressive behavior toward Lively, demanding an apology for conduct that, he claimed, was not in line with her character.
However, a separate case against Baldoni was dismissed in June.
Looking ahead, it seems that Baldoni and Lively’s dispute is set to escalate in court by March 2026.
