Week 7 of Waiver Wire Watch
Here we are, already in Week 7! It’s hard to believe, but we’re a third of the way through the 2025 NFL regular season. As I mentioned previously, many leagues have nearly all starting-caliber quarterbacks. Yet, keep an eye out for those lesser-known players who might just surprise you, similar to last weekend.
So, here are some players worth considering for your waiver wire ahead of Week 7. Just a reminder, we’re looking at those who are rostered in 60% or fewer leagues.
Teams on bye in Week 7: Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills
Jackson Dart, QB New York Giants (36.9%)
The Giants have taken a step up with Dart stepping in as the starting quarterback. He made an impact on Thursday by leading his team to a solid 34-17 win over the Eagles. Dart showcased his skills, throwing for 195 yards and rushing for another 58 yards with two touchdowns. Surprisingly, he’s now in the top 10 among quarterbacks for rushing yards with 167. His mix of mobility and throwing ability could make him a valuable fantasy asset.
As we move deeper into the season, injuries and bye weeks can really shake up your lineup, so having an emerging rookie like Dart could be a smart move.
Week 7 matchups: @ Denver Broncos, 4:05 pm ET.
Sam Darnold, QB Seattle Seahawks (27.3%)
Darnold had a great follow-up to his intense game against Baker Mayfield, guiding the Seahawks to a 20-12 victory over the Jaguars on Sunday. He threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns, and even upped his yardage per attempt this week. Finishing with a passer rating of 121.7, he’s now ranked in the top five for quarterbacks once again.
Despite his solid performances, Darnold often gets overlooked on the waiver wire. If your quarterback situation is iffy, it might be worth snagging him. Just, you know, so your friends don’t get him.
Week 7 matchups: vs. Houston Texans, 10 pm ET (Monday night)
Aaron Rodgers, QB Pittsburgh Steelers (18.9%)
The Steelers might secure the AFC North by simply hanging on while the rest of their rivals falter. Rodgers could be just what they need; he had a strong showing against the Browns with 235 passing yards and two touchdowns in a 23-9 victory.
Now, he isn’t quite hitting the high numbers he used to during his heyday at Green Bay and ranks surprisingly low among starting quarterbacks. His average passing distance is only 7.8 yards, which means he’s focusing more on quick, efficient throws. This approach seems to work well for Pittsburgh, which could find itself in a good position soon. In fantasy terms, he’s a bit of a low-ceiling but reliable option.
Week 7 matchups: @ Cincinnati Bengals, 8:15 pm ET (Thursday night)
Jacoby Brissett, QB Arizona Cardinals (0.8%)
With Kyler Murray injured during the matchup against the Colts in Week 6, Brissett stepped in and nearly pulled off an unexpected win, throwing for 320 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in a close 27-24 loss. It’s been a while since Murray had a 300-yard game—over a year, actually.
Brissett’s decent performance sparked conversations about whether he might take over Murray’s spot. Coach Jonathan Gannon has hinted at the implications of this situation. Still, if Murray’s injury holds him back, Brissett could be a temporary but viable fantasy option in the upcoming weeks.
Week 7 matchups: vs. Green Bay Packers, 4:25 pm ET
