Week 7 Waiver Wire Watch
It’s hard to believe we’re already a third of the way through the 2025 NFL regular season as another action-packed weekend rolls in. While some of the big names like George Kittle and Brock Bowers are facing challenges on the field, new talents keep emerging each week, adding excitement to the mix.
As we head into Week 7, there are a few standout players from Week 6 worth considering for your roster. Just a quick note: we’re looking at players who are rostered in about 60% or less of leagues for our recommendations.
Notable Bye Weeks: Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills
Orondo Gadsden II, TE, Los Angeles Chargers (1.8%)
Gadsden had a breakthrough game for the Chargers against the Dolphins, showing notable performance, especially given his father’s history with the franchise. This fifth-round rookie from Syracuse had his best game yet, catching seven of eight targets for 68 yards in a tight 29-27 victory. The Chargers’ tight ends haven’t made much of a mark before Week 6, but Gadsden’s rising influence, along with Tyler Higbee’s performance, might mean more good things ahead for the position. It could be a good time to scoop him up while his value remains relatively low.
Upcoming Matchup: vs. Indianapolis Colts, 4:05 p.m. ET
AJ Varner, TE, Seattle Seahawks (20.2%)
So, Varner is really aiming for a top-10 spot among fantasy tight ends in all scoring formats. He once again made an impression in the Seahawks’ win over Jacksonville, even though he didn’t find the end zone this time. He did, however, grab three receptions for 71 yards, giving quarterback Sam Darnold a much-needed target. Surprisingly, despite his solid performance, he’s still available in most leagues, presenting a good chance for those looking to strengthen their squad.
Upcoming Matchup: vs. Houston Texans, 10 p.m. ET (Monday night)
Harold Fannin Jr., TE, Cleveland Browns (34.6%)
The Browns had a rough outing against the Steelers, losing 23-9, but Fannin shone during the game. As Dillon Gabriel’s primary target, he notched seven receptions for 81 yards, making him a top-10 tight end for Week 6 in terms of both receptions and receiving yards, despite the competition. With a target share of just 16.31%, he’s likely to remain a dependable option for the new starter Gabriel going forward.
Upcoming Matchup: vs. Miami Dolphins, 1:00 p.m. ET
Michael Mayer, TE, Las Vegas Raiders (2.8%)
Mayer stepped up for the Raiders during their 20-10 victory over the Titans in place of Brock Bowers, who is out with a knee injury. The third-year tight end had an impressive showing, finishing as a top-five fantasy tight end for the week with five receptions on seven targets for 50 yards and his first touchdown of the season. Given Bowers’ knee trouble, it seems likely that Mayer will continue to have a significant role.
Upcoming Matchup: @ Kansas City Chiefs, 1 p.m. ET
