“Boy Meets World” Stars Reunite on “Dancing with the Stars”
Tuesday night brought a nostalgic reunion of “Boy Meets World” on “Dancing with the Stars” during the show’s “Dedication Night.” Danielle Fishel, who famously played Topanga Lawrence, teamed up with her professional partner Pasha Pashkov to honor the beloved series that kickstarted her career.
The duo performed a lively jive set to the “Boy Meets World” theme song, featuring Phil Rosenthal. Fishel dedicated their performance to William “Bill” Daniels, who portrayed the iconic Mr. Feeny on the show.
Before their dance, Fishel expressed her gratitude, saying, “I don’t think I would have become the professional I am today without watching him for all those years. It’s been over 30 years since we first met, and I can see how proud he is of me. He means so much to me.”
Daniels, now 98, made a special appearance in front of a school-themed set created by the show’s production team. In a pre-recorded interview that aired before their routine, he shared, “I’m so proud of everything Danielle does. It’s truly enjoyable to watch you.”
Several former cast members from “Boy Meets World” filled the ballroom to support Fishel and Pashkov, who garnered a score of 29 out of 40 from the judges, including Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli, and guest judge Kim Johnson-Herjavec.
In the audience were notable cast members like Will Friedle (Eric Matthews), Matthew Lawrence (Jack Hunter), and others, all cheering for Fishel. Unfortunately, Rider Strong (Sean Hunter) was unable to attend, being caught up with work, though he had made previous appearances to support his co-hosts on “Pod Meets World.” Ben Savage, known for his role as Cory Matthews, was also missing, amid rumors of his distancing from the group in recent years.
Prior to the performance, Fishel shared heartfelt messages for Daniels on Instagram. She expressed her commitment to honoring him, stating, “I feel it’s a huge responsibility to give this man—a figure who has educated countless people and nurtured multiple generations—a joyous dance.” Her dedication was meant to represent all who have appreciated his influential career.
This season on “Dancing with the Stars,” Fishel has been enjoying her experience, and it seems Tuesday was no exception. As for what’s next, she and Pashkov are set to perform to a yet-to-be-announced song during the upcoming “Wicked”-themed episode.
Last month, while chatting with Page Six after the Season 34 premiere, Fishel and Pashkov hinted at an exciting surprise in store, saying, “If you’re here long enough, we have some incredibly special plans. Please vote for us!”
“Dancing with the Stars” will continue next Tuesday at 8 PM ET/PT with its “Wicked Night,” airing on ABC and Disney+, with new episodes available on Hulu the following day.
