Best 70 standard fantasy football running backs for Week 7

Week 7 Fantasy Football Insights

As we dive into Week 7 of the fantasy football season, it’s worth glancing back at the standout performances from Week 6. Familiar names like Rico Doodle, Cam Skatebo, and Kimani Vidal led the charge, joined by some surprising entries such as Bijan Robinson, Josh Jacobs, and Devon Ashen.

Dowdle has been turning heads, almost channeling Walter Payton—well, when he plays for the Dolphins and Cowboys, that is. It appears he has seized the starting role with Tuba Hubbard sidelined, but, you know, we’ll just have to see how that plays out. Vidal was the player that Fantastic Player had high hopes for after Omarion Hampton’s injury, but there were murmurs that Hassan Haskins might step in. Turns out, those whispers were off the mark. Vidal started and did a fantastic job, notching up 124 rushing yards on 18 attempts, plus a touchdown from four receptions. Sure, being part of the Dolphins helps his cause, but while Hampton is out, there’s definitely some fantasy potential here. Skatebo? Well, he’s a bit of a wildcard—likely to flame out like Icarus, but hopefully, he hangs in there for a good while before a steep decline.

In other updates, we have the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills making waves in their respective matchups. Derrick Henry, Justice Hill, James Cook, and Ray Davies are all players worth keeping an eye on.

Hubbard has missed the last two games due to a calf injury, causing Rico Doodle to shine with impressive stats: 473 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns. With his current form, it’s hard to imagine head coach Dave Canales returning Hubbard as the lead back anytime soon. Sure, the Dolphins and Cowboys might have struggled defensively, but Dowdle is in a zone right now.

Irving is dealing with shoulder and foot injuries, missing the last two games. Rathard White has stepped up, and with Irving already ruled out for Week 7, White could be a strong fantasy option.

As for Jones, he might return from IR this week, but we’re still waiting for confirmation. Meanwhile, Jordan Mason is doing well in his absence. If Jones returns healthy, he could reclaim a role, with Mason likely taking first downs and Jones focused on passing plays.

Emari DeMercado, Cardinals

Injuries have hit DeMercado hard; he left with an ankle injury in Week 6 and didn’t return. Should he sit out, Bam Knight seems poised to take over the lead back role, while Michael Carter may see more action as a receiver.
