NFL Week 7 Tight End Rankings Insights
As Week 6 of the NFL season wraps up, we quickly turn our attention to Standard Score’s Week 7 tight end rankings. It’s interesting, really, to see how the tight end position, which often leans heavily on touchdowns, impacts overall scoring.
Darren Waller has made quite an impression, scoring four touchdowns in just three games, leading the pack in fantasy points per game. However, his overall rank places him 12th in standard points due to playing only three out of six games. Dallas Goedert follows closely, sitting second in fantasy points per game with five touchdowns in five games. He currently ranks third overall, trailing behind Tyler Warren and Jake Ferguson. Notably, Ferguson is leading in PPR scoring, while Warren edges out in standard formats.
There have definitely been some unexpected performances this season. Players like Harold Fannin, AJ Varner, Jake Tonges, and Hunter Henry have exceeded early expectations. But let’s not forget, tight end touchdowns can be quite unpredictable. Relying on a tight end who isn’t targeted often is risky at best. It’s probably wiser to pursue a player who’s consistently targeted rather than one who gets lucky with the occasional touchdown.
Looking at some key teams, we see notable tight ends like Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likely, Dalton Kincaid, and Dawson Knox from the Ravens and Bills.
George Kittle is expected to practice this week and could return from his hamstring injury for the Sunday Night Football matchup against the Falcons. His versatility as both a blocker and a receiver is crucial for the 49ers. If players like Ricky Pearsall and Brock Purdy can also make their return, that could really improve the team’s performance.
In other injury news, Bowers has returned to health after missing the last couple of weeks due to a knee issue. Even so, he hasn’t quite returned to form, so the team is being cautious about reintegrating him into the lineup. If he does play, he’ll likely be starting from a disadvantage.
Njoku faced a knee injury in the recent game against the Steelers. While he attempted to push through the pain, he ultimately had to leave the game. The severity of his injury remains uncertain, but it’s a positive sign that he tried to play. If he can’t suit up for the matchup against Miami, there might be a nice opportunity for Harold Fannin, given the favorable matchup.
