Harris Promotes Book Amid Controversial Remarks on Campaign
Former Vice President Kamala Harris is currently on a national tour, promoting her new book while revisiting some strange remarks and justifications regarding her unsuccessful 2024 presidential bid.
In an interview on October 9, Harris stated, alongside liberal podcaster Kara Swisher, that she is the “most qualified presidential candidate in history.”
During the conversation, Harris highlighted her accomplishments as the first female vice president of color. Swisher interjected, saying, “That’s a decent resume, but here you go.” Harris seemed to revel in the moment, as the audience responded with applause and a standing ovation.
Swisher appeared to interpret Harris’s claim of “some people” as possibly a nod to former President Donald Trump, whose saying “many people are saying” has become a bit of a meme. Or maybe it was a subtle jab at Harris.
“The phrase ‘Some people say this’ is really pleasant, I quite like it,” Swisher commented.
Harris retorted, “I’m just telling the facts,” though the “some people” she referred to might just be one individual: Tim Walz, her running mate. Walz had previously expressed his shock that the nation didn’t support what he deemed the most qualified candidate ever, during a lecture at Harvard University.
While some might doubt Walz’s words, there’s an element of respect for his unwavering loyalty.
Harris recently made yet another peculiar observation regarding her campaign events. She mentioned how people would approach her, asking to hold their babies for photos. “You know, it’s one of my favorite things,” Harris said. “It always happened spontaneously…someone always wanted me to take a picture or hug their child.” She went on to describe how babies would be passed through the crowd, becoming quite emotional about it.
However, her book event faced unexpected drama. Hecklers from the left-wing group Climate Defiance interrupted her, labeling her a “war criminal” and attributing Trump’s victory to her failure. “You lost because you wanted to be a Republican!” one heckler shouted, accusing Harris of failing the youth and climate, insisting it was her fault for the four years of Trump.
Ms. Harris struggled to contain her nervous laughter amidst the chaos that erupted. Scenes like this are proving to be common, and many suggest that her book tour might be as troubled as her presidential campaign. After all, many people are saying so!
