Actress Diane Keaton Dies at Age 79
Diane Keaton, renowned for her roles in “The Godfather” and alongside Woody Allen in “Annie Hall,” has passed away at the age of 79. Her death was officially attributed to primary bacterial pneumonia, as detailed in the death certificate acquired by People. It’s reported that she had been dealing with this illness for several days prior to her passing, which occurred on October 11. The document also notes that she was cremated on October 14.
Keaton’s family expressed their gratitude in a statement, appreciating the outpouring of love and support from her fans during this difficult time.
The family mentioned, “She adored animals and supported the non-fed community, so any donations in her name to a food bank or animal shelter would be a meaningful tribute to her.”
Audio from a 911 call indicated that emergency teams had responded to a situation involving Keaton early on October 11. A dispatcher reported someone was down, leading to her being taken to a local hospital. A close friend revealed that Keaton’s health had been declining rapidly.
It seems her last months were somewhat kept under wraps; only her nearest family were with her, while many long-time friends were kept in the dark about her condition. The friend mentioned it was quite shocking, especially considering her usual strength and resilience.
