A man named Keon King, 21, is connected to the disappearance of Philadelphia beauty queen Kadda Scott. He was recently seen on video harassing another woman outside her home just an hour before he allegedly kidnapped and assaulted her. In January, King reportedly climbed over a fence into a woman’s backyard in North Philadelphia, crawled to her bedroom window, and stared at her. The woman inside yelled for him to leave.
The video, shared on TikTok, captures someone off-camera telling King to get lost. While he moved around the house checking windows, the woman instructed another person inside to call the police, expressing concern about his presence.
An hour later, King purportedly returned to the same house, abducted the woman, and forced her into his car. He drove off, assaulted her, and eventually let her out of the vehicle, as detailed by NBC Philadelphia citing police reports.
This incident occurred in front of King’s two-year-old child, who was in the backseat at the time.
King was initially charged with kidnapping and assault, but those charges were dropped in May when the victim didn’t appear for court. However, they were reinstated after his arrest linked him to Scott’s disappearance on October 4.
The woman involved in King’s earlier alleged crime remarked on TikTok that she was relieved he was in jail, saying he posed a threat to others. She recounted how this was one of multiple attempts he made to break into her house.
On Thursday, King faced new charges, including kidnapping for ransom and tampering with evidence, and is held on a $2.5 million bail.
Kadda Scott, 23, went missing after finishing a night shift at a nursing home. She was last seen around 9:30 p.m. on October 4, after meeting someone shortly after finishing work, as confirmed by Philadelphia Police. The deputy chief stated they had clear evidence suggesting she was in contact with someone before she went missing.
Scott represented Philadelphia Township in Miss Pennsylvania USA. Prior to her disappearance, she mentioned being harassed over the phone by an unidentified individual, and it’s believed she met King shortly before she vanished.
The police have labeled the case as a missing persons investigation while maintaining a vigilant hope for her safe return. They’re now working with the homicide unit for their expertise and resources. Investigators suspect a 1999 metallic gold Toyota Camry, linked to Scott’s disappearance, was spotted the night she vanished.
Nearby, authorities found items seemingly belonging to Scott, amidst other evidence. The police commented on discovering significant physical evidence that ties her to the area where the car was located.
Scott’s family has set up a ‘Verified Rewards Fund’ through GoFundMe to support the search and gather information. Her mother expressed deep concern for her safety, while her father emphasized the importance of community assistance in bringing her home.
