Mark Sanchez’s Legal Troubles and Erin Campaneris’ Response
This past week, Erin Campaneris, the mother of Mark Sanchez’s child, found herself confined to her parents’ home in Arizona after getting into a physical altercation with the former Jets quarterback. This incident occurred while Sanchez was grappling with the fallout from his recent arrest.
Campaneris, also known as Bobby T., was spotted walking with their 8-year-old son near the family’s small condo, which is notably linked to famed retired Oakland Athletics shortstop Bart Campaneris.
The 46-year-old British-born model, who previously dated Sanchez, was dressed casually in a red gingham maxi dress and mesh Mary Jane shoes.
Just days prior to this sighting, Campaneris had made critical remarks about Sanchez following his felony charge for allegedly assaulting a 69-year-old truck driver in Indianapolis. She expressed her feelings on Instagram, stating, “Unfortunately, none of this comes as a surprise to me.”
Campaneris’ mother, Evelyn, shared that her daughter doesn’t reside permanently in their family home, which is valued at around $500,000. It appears they may be staying there temporarily to let the situation cool down.
Evelyn refrained from commenting on Sanchez’s legal issues, mentioning that her lawyer advised her to stay silent.
In a social media post, Campaneris emphasized her commitment to her son, stating, “My first priority has always been, and always will be, my 8-year-old son Daniel. I have chosen to remain silent publicly to protect Daniel.” She elaborated on her concerns about his safety and what he might be exposed to.
Interestingly, she also has a history with other high-profile figures. Reports suggest she dated actor Will Poulter, known for his role in ‘The Bear,’ last year before their breakup earlier this year.
Regarding her relationship with Sanchez, they began dating in 2017. Sanchez has since married actress Perry Mattfeld, who revealed their pregnancy with twins in February.
The two first met when Sanchez was in Chicago filming “Shameless” while on the Bears roster, having been introduced by a teammate. Their shared background—both attending the University of Southern California, having similar family histories, and their Hispanic heritage—caused some interesting connections between them.
Sanchez was recently processed by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office following an altercation with the truck driver that left him injured. According to court documents, Sanchez is now facing significant charges, including a Level 5 felony for serious bodily injury and various misdemeanors related to the incident.
His next court hearing is set for November 5th, after waiving an initial appearance that was scheduled for October 7th.
It’s also worth noting that Mr. Toll, the truck driver involved, is suing Sanchez for civil damages, claiming he has suffered “severe and permanent injuries” from the attack.
