NFL Films Distances Itself from Bill Belichick’s Controversy

NFL Films has made it quite clear that it wants no part in the ongoing situation involving Bill Belichick.

This came after journalist Pablo Torre shared a behind-the-scenes video featuring Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hasdon, expressing dissatisfaction on the set of the show “Coach.” Although the production utilizes NFL Films’ facilities, the company stated it was not involved in the making of the show.

NFL Films communicated its stance through a statement directed to ESPN personality Pat McAfee. They explained that they permitted Belichick to access the studio “for his convenience,” and mentioned that the show’s production was handled by a different team altogether.

In a statement read by McAfee on “The Pat McAfee Show,” NFL Films clarified, “At the time this footage was shot, NFL Pictures was not producing ‘Coach’ with Bill Belichick. NFL Films did not edit this program, NFL Films did not film this program, and NFL Films does not own this program.”

The statement further explained, “For his convenience, NFL Films allowed Coach Belichick and the Underdog production team to use the studio since he was already there as a talent on ‘Inside the NFL.’

“NFL Films has maintained a long-standing relationship with Bill Belichick based on trust and mutual respect built over many years. There’s no reason to believe that this leak originated from NFL Films or its employees.”

This response came shortly after Torre showcased the behind-the-scenes footage featuring Belichick, who is 73, and Hudson.

In the footage aired on Friday’s “Discovering Pablo Torre,” Hudson could be seen expressing frustration about the show’s graphics team, saying, “I don’t know why they have four full-time graphics people.”

Belichick responded, “They can’t do that.”

Hudson then replied, “Right?”

The show “Coach” is just one of several media engagements that have been paused while Belichick returns to coaching, with new episodes expected to resume in January.
