Protester Slams Trump Piñata at Chicago Demonstration

During a “No Kings” protest in Chicago on Saturday, a demonstration participant was captured on video attacking a piñata designed to look like former President Donald Trump.

Protesters gathered outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Broadview, Illinois. At one point, a man wielding the Trump piñata encouraged others to take swings at it.

Initially, the atmosphere was tense, but then a child stepped up to the challenge and began hitting the Trump figure, which drew cheers from the crowd.

This moment quickly gained traction on social media, especially among conservative users. A post from “TikTok Lib” shared the video, criticizing Democrats for teaching children to “stab” depictions of Trump.

Reacting to the event, Sen. Mike Lee from Utah expressed his disapproval. He stated, “This is not funny. This is how the culture of assassination takes root.” He then called on Democrats to publicly denounce the incident.

The protest occurred just days after Secret Service agents found a hunting platform that had a clear line of sight into Trump’s arrival area at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida. While officials have not definitively linked the protest to any specific threat, White House aides indicated that heightened security measures were in place during Trump’s departure from Florida that weekend.

Trump has faced two assassination attempts since he began campaigning for the 2024 presidential election, one in Pennsylvania in July 2024 and another in Florida in September of the same year. The latter incident involved the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was killed by security at the scene, while Ryan Wesley Routh was convicted on assassination-related charges the previous month.
