Brandon Graham is closing in on a contract to return to the Eagles for his 16th season.

Brandon Graham is making a return to the Eagles, putting the finishing touches on a new deal after briefly retiring. This news comes as he looks to rejoin the only NFL team he’s played for throughout his 15-year career, according to a report from ESPN.

Graham, a former defensive end, stepped back from the game in March, shortly after the Eagles celebrated their second Super Bowl victory by defeating the Chiefs.

During his time away from football, he explored other avenues. He appeared as an analyst on “Good Morning Football” and, like former teammate Jason Kelce, started a podcast called “Unblocked.”

On Monday night, the 37-year-old Pro Bowler hinted that he has exciting news to share, which he plans to announce on his podcast Tuesday at 9 a.m. ET.

“Hey Eagles fans, what’s up? Watch ‘Unblocked’ tomorrow. I have some special news for you guys and a lot to talk about. Come on,” he expressed.

As the longest-serving player in Eagles history, Graham’s return is anticipated to bolster a struggling edge rusher group.

With both Graham and Josh Sweat sidelined, concerns about the Eagles’ defensive line were already growing. Unfortunately, those worries deepened when Nolan Smith Jr. was placed on injured reserve due to a triceps injury, although he is expected to return after the team’s Week 9 bye. The Eagles have also lost Ogbo Okoronkwo to injured reserve due to a similar injury following their Week 4 victory over the Buccaneers.

Jordan Mailata commented on Graham’s potential return after the Eagles’ game against the Vikings, mentioning, “If he’s going to come back, then yeah. It’s the uncle there, the OG uncle. One of the most important pieces we got in the Super Bowl last year. I think it adds depth and pop.”

If Graham’s contract is finalized soon, he might be on the field for the upcoming rematch against the Giants before the bye week.

Graham holds the third spot in Eagles history with 76.5 career sacks, achieving his first double-digit sack season in 2022 with a total of 11 sacks.
