Bible sales rise to 2.4 million copies sold after Kirk's passing

Spike in Bible Sales Following Charlie Kirk’s Assassination

After the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, a noticeable increase in Bible sales has been reported. According to recent statistics, 2.4 million copies were sold in the U.S. in September alone, marking an impressive 36% rise compared to the same month last year, as detailed by Circana BookScan.

This surge in Bible sales seems connected to a broader trend. Brenna Connor, an analyst at Circana BookScan, noted that September was filled with unsettling events—ranging from violence to economic instability—prompting many individuals to seek solace in their faith during such tumultuous times.

Kirk, a dedicated Christian, was known for his outspoken beliefs, including his advocacy for celibacy and traditional marriage. His views resonated with many individuals, perhaps explaining why his passing has led to this significant religious shift.

In a related development, Charlie Kirk was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom on what would have been his 32nd birthday, October 14, 2025. His wife, Erika Kirk, accepted the accolade at a ceremony held in the White House Rose Garden. She took the opportunity to reflect on her husband’s unwavering faith and the sacrifices he made.

On the same day, Turning Point USA celebrated Kirk’s legacy by sharing “31 Ways to Live Like Charlie Kirk” on social media. The suggestions included ideas such as observing the Sabbath, maintaining a daily diary, and, of course, reading the Bible regularly.

Kirk was assassinated during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University, and his death has sparked a nationwide conversation about faith and community, with an increased emphasis on church attendance.
