John Stamos candidly addresses questions about his relationship with Lori Loughlin

This week on a podcast, John Stamos had some interesting thoughts when asked about Lori Loughlin, who recently became single. Co-host Ben Soffer asked if Stamos would consider inviting Loughlin into his relationship with his wife, Caitlin McHugh. Many fans seem curious, with some even wondering if he’d ever break away from McHugh to reunite with Loughlin.

Soffer jokingly referred to Loughlin as “Aunt Becky,” a nod to the character she played in “Full House.” He suggested there would be interest in seeing if Stamos would embrace a more unconventional relationship structure. When Stamos inquired if they meant “threesomes,” they clarified it was more about polyamory. He humorously replied, “No, I’m not a Mormon.”

Following that topic, the trio delved into the swinger lifestyle, which Stamos seemed to think mostly fails—though he mentioned knowing a few successful couples. He expressed support for Loughlin as she navigates her recent separation from husband Mossimo Giannulli. They announced their split after nearly 28 years of marriage.

Stamos reflected on Loughlin’s past and called Giannulli a “narcissist,” adding he wouldn’t communicate with him again. He emphasized how much Loughlin endured through their marriage, saying, “She was an angel and always made things better.”

He appeared puzzled by how one manages a complicated family dynamic, saying, “If you have a wife and family like that, how do you work it out?” Notably, Stamos and Loughlin, who played a couple on “Full House,” had always maintained their relationship was strictly platonic, despite fans’ assumptions. In fact, he shared he once described Loughlin as “the one who got away” before meeting McHugh.

It’s fascinating; he remarked that there was “a very small window” when they were both single. He likened Loughlin to a pre-transformation Sandy from “Grease,” while contrasting her with his ex-wife, Rebecca Romijn, as the post-transformation Sandy. He confessed he was once drawn to “rebellious” types.

Stamos has a son named Billy with McHugh and has been married to her since 2018. He reminisced about working with Loughlin, noting she was always kind to him, saying, “Lori was very sweet.” Interestingly, he recalled a moment on a Disneyland ride when he thought they might have flirted, but Loughlin dismissed that idea, leading him to wonder if he had just imagined it.
