George Springer Prepares for Busy Month
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer has a packed schedule coming up.
The MLB All-Star is set to attend his sister Lena’s wedding right after the Blue Jays face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2025 World Series.
Lena, who is the head softball coach at Trinity College, shared the exciting news about her wedding on X after celebrating Toronto’s thrilling 4-3 comeback victory over the Seattle Mariners in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series. She expressed her surprise at the timing, saying, “The World Series a week before the wedding wasn’t originally on the 2025 bingo card, but now I’m so glad!!! Let’s Gooooooooo!!!”
Her post followed George’s crucial three-run homer that clinched the Blue Jays’ first World Series appearance in 30 years.
The Fall Classic is set to kick off on Friday in Toronto and could last until at least October 28.
Games might extend into early November, with Game 6 poised for October 31 and Game 7, if necessary, on November 1.
Details about Lena’s wedding location and timing remain uncertain.
Growing up in New Britain, Connecticut, the Springers have shared many family moments. Lena recently expressed her excitement on Instagram, reflecting on her brother’s significant achievement in the World Series. She mentioned she was finalizing wedding details amid this joyful chaos.
In a tweet, Lena remarked on how surreal it is to witness her brother play in the World Series for a third time, sharing a family photo with her husband and children during the Blue Jays’ ALCS victory. George, at 36, previously won a World Series with the Astros in 2017 and earned World Series MVP honors that year, alongside his selection as an MLB All-Star.
After a successful stint with Houston, Springer signed a hefty six-year, $150 million deal with the Blue Jays in 2021.
This season, the Blue Jays faced the Dodgers once, where Los Angeles emerged victorious in two out of three games during their August series.
As the Dodgers prepare to defend their championship title—having recently beaten the Brewers in the National League Championship Series—they now focus on their upcoming matchup against the Blue Jays.
