Jay Cutler’s DUI Arrest Footage Released
Body camera footage from Jay Cutler’s DUI arrest has come to light, just a few days after the former NFL quarterback spent 2½ days in jail following his arrest in October 2024.
According to reports, the video was released recently. It shows Cutler, 42, being questioned by a police officer about his drinking after he rear-ended another vehicle in Franklin, Tennessee. When the officer initially asked how much he had consumed, Cutler replied, “Nothing.” However, pressed again, he admitted to having “a little.”
The officer then handcuffed Cutler, who declined to take a breathalyzer test. Despite this, he didn’t resist arrest and was placed in the back of a patrol car.
Cutler was taken into custody on charges of drunk driving and possessing a firearm. It was reported that he attempted to offer the other driver involved $2,000 to avoid contacting the police.
After some time, Cutler chose to end his agreement with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence. As part of the plea deal, he was sentenced to four days in jail and turned himself in at the end of September. The weapon charges were dismissed.
Following his sentence, he received one year of unsupervised probation and was required to pay a $350 fine. While he has completed his jail time, this situation appears to be far from over.
In September, reports surfaced that Cutler is being sued by the driver he hit, who claims to have faced both physical and mental trauma and a decreased enjoyment of life since the incident.
Drafted 11th overall by the Broncos in 2006, Cutler had a 12-season career in the NFL, but he’s most recognized for his time with the Bears from 2009 to 2016. He played his last season with the Dolphins in 2017.
Cutler was formerly married to reality star Kristin Cavallari, known for her appearances on MTV’s “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills.” Together, they have three children.
