‘9-1-1: Nashville’ Actress Isabelle Tate Passes Away at 23

Tragic Loss of Isabel Tate

Isabel Tate, a rising star known for her role in the new ABC series 9-1-1: Nashville, passed away on Sunday at just 23 years old.

The spinoff series has only had three episodes so far, and Tate, who grew up in Nashville, portrayed Julie in the pilot that aired on October 9. Her passing was confirmed by her agency, McRae Agency, via social media, highlighting the significance of this series as the first role she landed after auditioning.

“We are heartbroken to share the news of Isabel Tate’s passing on October 19th. She was only 23,” the agency’s post expressed. “I’ve known Izzy since she was a teenager and, recently, she returned to acting. She landed the first series she auditioned for—9-1-1: Nashville. We had such a great time working together… I feel fortunate to have known her. She’ll be deeply missed by many.”

Regarding the circumstances surrounding her death, McRae Agency revealed that Tate dealt with a rare form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. The Mayo Clinic describes this condition as a collection of genetic disorders that lead to nerve damage. Tate had previously shared her experiences living with this condition on social media.

According to her obituary, which can be found online, Tate earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University and was passionate about acting. “Isabelle loved volunteering, particularly with animals. Her idea of a fun day was to visit shelters and shower them with affection,” the obituary states. “She was filled with passion, a fighter at heart, and never let her disability hold her back. Isabelle was also musically gifted, spending countless hours writing and recording songs, some of which she published. Most importantly, she treasured time spent with family and friends, and she loved to be part of gatherings.”

In reaction to her passing, co-star Hunter McVeigh from 9-1-1: Nashville shared his shock. “I didn’t know Isabel well before filming, but working with her felt incredible. I was nervous, but she always had kind words after each take. It was refreshing to talk after scenes. She truly brought joy to everyone around her,” McVeigh stated, reflecting on how a piece of her would persist in the series. “I’m praying for her family during this difficult time.”

Isabel’s influence and spirit will undoubtedly endure through the many lives she impacted. A tribute to her is set to appear in episode 4 of 9-1-1: Nashville on October 30.

The episodes of 9-1-1: Nashville are available for streaming on Hulu.
