Hollywood Piano Teacher Flees After Guilty Verdict

It’s quite the unexpected twist. A piano instructor from Hollywood was convicted of sexually abusing a 15-year-old client in California but fled the country before he could stand trial. This startling turn of events unfolded earlier this month.

Reports indicate that 69-year-old John Khalil left town on October 8, just after the jury delivered its verdict. Interestingly, his lawyer mentioned that he hadn’t had contact with Khalil since the day prior.

Details of the Case

Los Angeles prosecutors revealed that the victim reported Khalil had asked him to measure his genitals at the age of 15. Additionally, it came to light that two years later, Khalil suggested the victim strip naked during a FaceTime call, claiming it was something friends did.

Khalil was also charged with using marijuana and engaging in oral sex with the boy. If authorities confirm he has fled the country, he may face up to a decade in prison.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has yet to respond to requests for comments.

Interestingly, Khalil’s website once boasted a client list that included children of parents involved in hit shows like “Mad Men,” “Samurai Jack,” and “Orange is the New Black.” However, testimonials from those clients were notably absent from the site as of Friday.

Originally from Australia, Khalil had admitted to the charges but later withdrew his plea following a guilty verdict and attempted to appeal his case. His Instagram profile suggests he trained in classical piano at the Sydney Conservatory of Music and even got accepted into Juilliard.
