Jenna Ortega made a striking appearance at the InStyle Imagemaker Awards recently. The dress included a thigh-high slit, which drew attention as it highlighted her darker-colored underwear beneath.
She complemented her outfit with a plush burgundy jacket, silver high heels, and a drop necklace paired with a ring on her right hand. Ortega kept her hair and makeup minimalistic, sporting her signature bleached eyebrows and a dark lip color, with her hair styled in a center part.
At the ceremony, she paid tribute to stylist Enrique Melendez, who received the Future of Fashion Award. In her speech, Ortega expressed gratitude, mentioning Melendez as “one of the first people to make me feel seen and heard.”
Ortega spoke candidly about her journey as a child actor, reflecting on the challenges of growing up in the industry. She noted that it can feel like one is simply following orders, but Melendez made her feel valued. “He always took what I said with the utmost importance,” she said.
The “Beetlejuice” actress previously shared her thoughts on child acting, describing it as “weird” and acknowledging the concerns some parents may have about the environment. Ortega remarked that if she hadn’t started acting, she could have been a different person altogether. “Kids should be climbing trees, drawing pictures, going to school,” she asserted.
She recounted her audition experiences that could often include hours in casting offices surrounded by intense personalities, which initially made her apprehensive around others. “I was so happy to be able to get back in the car and do my homework at the end of the day,” she added, recalling her time in public school with siblings.
Ortega, known for her role as the inventive middle child in Disney’s “Stuck in the Middle,” gained notoriety playing Wednesday Addams in the Netflix series “Wednesday.” This role significantly boosted her career, leading to award nominations including an Emmy and a Golden Globe.
While she didn’t receive a nomination for the 2025 Emmy Awards, Ortega appeared as a presenter alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones in another eye-catching outfit, featuring a bold dress adorned with jewels and a thigh-high slit on the skirt.
