As of today, there’s a new array of benefits rolling out for cardholders of the Chase Sapphire Reserve®. Those who opened their accounts before June 23 can immediately access and activate these benefits, while new applicants have them available as well.
This update introduces additional statement credits in travel, entertainment, and lifestyle sectors, along with significant changes to how points can be earned and redeemed.
The exciting part? Cardholders can start utilizing these benefits right away.
Hotel Credits and Elite Status
Enjoy up to $250 in hotel credits for bookings made at The Edit, Chase’s exclusive collection of luxury hotels, available until the year’s end. This credit applies to prepaid reservations for two nights or more and includes perks like daily breakfast for two, a $100 on-site credit, early check-in, late check-out, and possible room upgrades. What’s more, you can apply credits from this year towards bookings in 2026 by claiming them now.
Beginning January 1, 2026, you’ll get two credits of up to $250 each each year.
For instance:
- One credit might be used for a two-night stay from March 3 to 4, 2026 (booked before the year ends).
- You could then use next year’s credit for a stay from March 5 to 6, 2026 (reservations open January 1, 2026).
- Any remaining credits can be applied for stays from March 7 to 8, 2026 (also available for booking starting January 1, 2026).
Stay for six nights at the same property and you could accumulate up to $750 in total credits.
Additionally, starting January 1, 2026, there will be a one-time $250 hotel credit for two-night stays at selected locations booked through Chase Travel℠, including IHG Hotels & Resorts and Virgin Hotels. This credit needs to be utilized within the same calendar year.
Cardholders can also register for complimentary IHG One Rewards Platinum elite status (valid until December 31, 2027) via the cardholder link. This status includes bonus points on stays, along with potential room upgrades and late check-out.
StubHub/Viagogo Credit
For concert and sports enthusiasts, there’s a new benefit that gives you up to $150 in semi-annual statement credits when buying tickets through StubHub or Viagogo until December 31, 2027. You’ll need to activate this feature first.
Since these platforms often host popular events, you can easily use the credits for a significant portion of a ticket price, twice a year. Pairing with Rakuten could lead to more discounts, so keep an eye on that.
Apple Credit
Newly available is a free Apple TV+ and Apple Music subscription (worth up to $250 annually), which lasts until June 22, 2027. You can activate each service separately through Chase’s website or app. If you’re already subscribed, it might be worth cancelling your paid membership and switching to the free version to save some cash.
Dining Credits and Limited Reservations
This benefit merges credits with priority reservations. Cardholders can earn up to $150 twice a year at eligible restaurants participating in this program. These restaurants include top venues in major cities and smaller towns. Simply pay with your card at participating locations—no reservations are needed. There’s even a chance to earn extra cash back through Rakuten at select restaurants.
To access priority reservations, log in to your OpenTable account and link your Chase Sapphire Reserve card as a payment option.
Peloton Credits
Peloton Credit allows for up to $10 per month through December 31, 2027. With the Peloton Digital Membership starting at $9.99 monthly (tax excluded), these credits can help offset some costs, but keep in mind activation is necessary. Just ensure you pay directly through Peloton, not via an app store.
Change in Rate of Return
The earning structure is shifting:
- Now earn 4 points per dollar when booking flights and hotels directly (previously 3 points).
- Earn 8 points per dollar for flight bookings through Chase Travel (increased from 5 points).
- Hotels and rental cars through Chase Travel will grant 8 points (decreased from 10 points).
- All other travel earns 1 point per dollar spent (down from previously earning 3 points).
Food purchases will remain at 3 points per dollar, while most other purchases continue to earn 1 point per dollar.
Chase Travel Award Devaluation
From now on, points can’t be redeemed through Chase Travel for a fixed rate of 1.5 cents each. Instead, you’ll have the opportunity for Points Boost, which could be worth up to 2 cents per point for certain hotels and airlines, or 1 cent for others. Points earned before this change will still keep their 1.5 cent fixed value option until October 26, 2027.
Conclusion
Today’s updates have effectively transformed the Chase Sapphire Reserve into a versatile travel and lifestyle hybrid card, combining benefits across hotels, entertainment, streaming, dining, and wellness. Many of these enhancements will be around until 2027, providing cardholders with ample opportunities to maximize their value. Whether or not this offsets the increased annual fee of $795 for renewals depends heavily on individual spending habits.
Among the newly introduced perks are IHG elite status, credits from The Edit, StubHub, Apple, and Peloton. Don’t forget to activate the new hotel credits starting January 1, 2026.
