Orthodox Jewish Leaders Back Jack Ciattarelli in New Jersey
In a significant development for New Jersey politics, a coalition of Orthodox Jewish leaders from Ocean County has come together to endorse Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli. This coalition represents one of the state’s most impactful faith-based voting groups, marking an important moment, as reported.
The joint announcement came from councils in Lakewood, Jackson, Toms River, Howell, and Manchester, showcasing a remarkable show of unity that’s likely to influence political dynamics in New Jersey.
Lakewood’s Vaad, a longstanding community council, collaborated with nearby councils to facilitate this endorsement. Their leaders explained that this initiative aimed to foster a sense of community beyond local borders, highlighting the significance of cohesion, turnout, and shared goals during this election cycle.
“The process took a little longer than normal, but it was for a meaningful reason,” organizers mentioned. “For the first time, all towns came together, focusing on unity and ensuring that every community’s voice was represented.”
They added, “In this election, turnout is everything. Every vote matters in every town. While each region has its own specific local issues, we share a great responsibility to vote collectively. Let’s ensure our community’s voice is strong at the polls.”
Letters obtained by Lakewood Scoop revealed the community’s solidarity, including a message to Howell residents that encouraged everyone to participate in the upcoming election.
These letters stressed the importance of unity across the Orthodox Jewish community, pointing out that each vote is consequential as New Jersey approaches a pivotal election period. Furthermore, the Vaad has long consulted with rabbinic leaders and community representatives to make value-driven political decisions.
Leaders emphasized that voting serves not only as a civic obligation but also as a way to express gratitude toward officials who have supported local needs, particularly regarding education funding, transportation, and religious freedoms.
Following a note of appreciation for President Donald Trump’s support for Israel and efforts against anti-Semitism, the Vaad endorsed Ciattarelli, underscoring his alignment with community interests concerning education, infrastructure, and taxation.
“Remember, your vote is your voice,” the Vaad stated, urging community members to value their voting power to maintain the influence and strength of their community.
Ciattarelli is striving to convert New Jersey from blue to red as he competes against Democratic candidate Mikie Sherrill.
