NFL’s Lip Readers Had Quite the Night
Aaron Rodgers had quite a reaction during Sunday night’s game. After a potential touchdown pass to Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf slipped away in the first half, the former Green Bay quarterback certainly didn’t hold back. He was caught on the “Sunday Night Football” broadcast expressing his frustration with a rather colorful remark.
While Pittsburgh’s field goal team prepared to kick at Acreshure Stadium, the cameras focused on Rodgers. It looked like he said something along the lines of “f-king c-ks-ker.”
In his first season with the Steelers—and possibly the last of his career—Rodgers finally linked up with Metcalf later in the second quarter, putting Pittsburgh ahead 16-7 as they headed into halftime.
However, the Packers recovered in the second half, ultimately beating their former quarterback 35-25.
The matchup held plenty of interest as Rodgers, age 41, spent nearly two decades with Green Bay before this season.
He was instrumental in leading his team to a Super Bowl win back in February 2011 and earned four league MVP titles along the way. After the 2022 season, he was traded to the Jets, and following two memorable years there, he signed a one-year deal with the Steelers in the offseason.
With Sunday’s loss, the Steelers fell to 4-3, and Rodgers acknowledged a tough challenge ahead, saying that both his team and the 7-1 Colts need to be “on the same page.” He emphasized the importance of not undermining themselves, noting, “We can’t beat ourselves.” Throughout the game against his former team, he had passing yards totaling 24, 36, and then 219.
In retrospect, he pointed out that during their three losses, there were ample opportunities that slipped away due to turnovers and other setbacks. “So we have to get rid of that,” he stated. “We need to sync up offensively and defensively and maintain our belief.”
