German Activist Seeks Asylum After Death Threats
A young German activist, often referred to as “Anti-Greta,” is pursuing asylum in the United States due to a wave of death threats from Antifa, stemming from her political beliefs and stance on free speech.
Naomi Seibt, at just 25 years old, has recently applied for political asylum, with the backing of Elon Musk. She fears for her safety and believes she could be killed or imprisoned if she returns to Germany.
Seibt, who gained notoriety for her controversial views on immigration and climate issues, expressed to Fox News that she has been receiving aggressive threats for several years.
“In 2024, I found out that I had been under surveillance by German intelligence for quite some time. Meanwhile, the threats from Antifa kept coming,” she recounted.
She approached the German police for help, but was told they could only assist if something severe occurred—like actual harm to her.
“I’m left unprotected by the German authorities, even as I face potential danger,” she remarked.
Seibt became a prominent figure among right-wing circles in the U.S. around 2020 and has often been contrasted with climate activist Greta Thunberg.
“I was dubbed the anti-Greta Thunberg and began to gain international visibility. It was all surprising to me since I was just 19,” she shared.
The media in Germany portrayed her negatively, likening her to a villain in opposition to Thunberg.
“I want to be known as Naomi Seibt, not just as some right-wing caricature,” she stated.
Additionally, Seibt mentioned that Musk has casually offered support in her quest for U.S. citizenship.
“Elon feels uneasy about Europe and acknowledges that there’s a significant risk, which he personally told me,” she explained, noting that her interactions with Musk began last year on X.
“That’s when I made the decision to seek asylum, and he supported my choice,” she concluded.
