Hollywood Producer Sentenced for Drugging and Killing Two Women
LOS ANGELES — David Pearce, a Hollywood producer, received a sentence of 146 years in prison on Wednesday for drugging two young women, observing their overdoses, and leaving their bodies outside hospitals.
Pearce, 42, was found guilty earlier this year for luring 24-year-old Christy Giles and 26-year-old Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola to his apartment in November 2021. He provided them with cocaine laced with fentanyl and drinks infused with drugs, all while failing to seek medical help during their overdoses.
In addition to these charges, Pearce was also convicted of raping seven victims who came forward after his arrest.
Prosecutors characterized Pearce as a methodical serial predator who managed to persuade Giles and Cabrales-Arzola into returning to his residence after attending a rave party at a Los Angeles warehouse.
Michael Ansbach, a friend who was present, testified that Pearce compelled all three participants to inhale cocaine.
After serving wine to the women and giving Ansbach a drink that was tasteless, he soon felt dizzy, collapsed, and was found in critical condition.
Ansbach recounted that while both women also passed out, they did not regain consciousness. He even claimed that when he urged Pearce to call for help, Pearce dismissed him, stating, “dead girls don’t talk.”
Pearce eventually placed the women into a Toyota Prius, abandoned their bodies on the sidewalk in front of two different hospitals, and then fled the scene.
It’s reported that he sought assistance from friends to dispose of the bodies. Actor Brant Osborne, 42, has faced charges as an accessory after the fact.
Cabrales-Arzola was declared brain dead and passed away on November 24, just five days before turning 27, according to her family.
Pearce’s legal team portrayed the events as a grave misjudgment rather than premeditated actions, claiming that prosecutors had manipulated the narrative to present a more malicious interpretation of the facts.
