From Pod to Motherhood
Megan “Sparkle Meg” Walerius, a star from *Love Is Blind*, has announced that she’s become a mother with a new partner during the Season 9 reunion show of the Netflix series.
“I’m a mother now,” she shared. “I gave birth to a boy two and a half months ago.” She expressed her joy, saying, “I have a little boy. He’s my whole world. And, you know, I realize now more than ever that I was meant to be a mother on this earth. He’s amazing. Our family is so happy.”
This surprise announcement followed reports that a man, who remains unidentified, had been seen with a toddler at Walerius’ home in Denver. Photographs reportedly taken on October 19th and 20th fueled speculation about her new family circumstances.
Waleruis later confirmed that her partner’s name is Paul, and they welcomed baby Brooks together. They met through a mutual friend three months after filming wrapped up, and she got pregnant just a few months into their relationship.
“We’ve definitely had our ups and downs. I wouldn’t say it’s been perfect, but Paul has been great and we’re very happy,” she noted. During the reunion, hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey showed images of her pregnancy and baby Brooks.
“I’m definitely learning to be more selfless. I think being a mother is the ultimate act of selflessness,” she added.
Interestingly, prior to this announcement, the mystery man was reported to be frequently present at Walerius’ home, appearing to live there. Although she wasn’t photographed with him, Walerius was seen out and about—running errands, going to the gym, and even grocery shopping.
In Season 9, Walerius engaged with a different participant, Jordan Keltner, who does not appear in the reunion discussions. Just days before their wedding, she told Keltner, who is a single father, that he was calling off their engagement due to “reservations” about their differing lifestyles. “We still have reservations, so you shouldn’t go into the wedding with that mindset,” she remarked during the show.
She had expressed doubts about taking on the role of a stepmother to Keltner’s five-year-old son, Luca, from a previous relationship. In a candid moment, she admitted, “So maybe I’m not cut out to be a stepmom. To be honest, I’m even questioning if I’m cut out to be a mom,” she confessed during a confessional segment.
Ultimately, Walerius reflected on her journey, saying, “I don’t know, maybe I’m just too caught up in my life. All I wanted to be in this experiment was to find love and find a partner. I’ll always love Jordan, but he’s not my partner.
*Love Is Blind* Season 9 is currently available to stream in its entirety on Netflix.
