Sarah Ferguson, the ex-wife of Prince Andrew, is preparing to move into a new home after recently being told to vacate the Royal Lodge, which has been her residence for years.
A source close to the former Duchess of York mentioned, “She’s planning to move out and find a new place.” There’s been some buzz around her living arrangements, but the source clarified that she isn’t seeking any financial support for housing. “She aims to lead an independent life.”
As another source added, Ferguson has no intentions of relocating to Sandringham with Andrew. It seems she’s ready to forge her own path moving forward.
Ferguson and Andrew tied the knot in 1986 but separated only six years later. Since their divorce in 1996, they remained close, with Ferguson moving into the Royal Lodge alongside Andrew in 2008.
Recently, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles initiated steps to remove Andrew’s royal titles, prompting the need for new living arrangements for both of them.
The decision stemmed from Andrew’s ongoing connections to Jeffrey Epstein and related scandals, which have drawn significant scrutiny.
Just before an upcoming memoir by his accuser, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, Andrew stated he would stop using the title Duke of York. Giuffre, who tragically passed away earlier this year, had consistently claimed that Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell trafficked her to Andrew when she was just 17.
The palace confirmed that Andrew has been stripped of his title and will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. His stay at the Royal Lodge had given him legal grounds to remain there, but a formal notice has now been issued for him to vacate.
Further insights from the palace indicated that while Andrew denies any involvement in the allegations against him, King Charles and Queen Camilla express their deepest sympathies with all abuse victims.
Currently, Andrew is transitioning away from the Royal Lodge and is expected to move to privately funded accommodations within the Sandringham Estate. Interestingly, reports suggest he has requested two properties: Frogmore Cottage for himself and Adelaide Cottage for Ferguson.
As for their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, it appears they will retain their royal titles amidst these changes.
