Duffy responds to Kim Kardashian: ‘We’ve already been to the Moon… 6 times!’

Transportation Secretary and Acting NASA Administrator Sean Duffy has criticized Kim Kardashian’s remarks suggesting that the 1969 moon landing “didn’t happen.”

“Yes @KimKardashian, we’ve been to the moon… 6 times!” Duffy wrote on social media, tagging Kardashian’s account. He accompanied this with a clip from the Kardashians’ reality show, where they discussed the moon landing.

Duffy went on to mention that NASA’s Artemis initiative, which began under President Trump’s administration, aims to take Americans back to the moon.

“We won the last space race, so we will win this time too,” he added, using an American flag and a spaceship emoji for emphasis.

The clip shared by Duffy is from a recent episode of the Kardashians’ show. In it, Kardashian converses with actress Sarah Paulson and repeats the theory that the moon landing was faked.

“I don’t think that happened,” she said, referencing an interview with astronaut Buzz Aldrin and another astronaut during which they asserted they “never had a scary moment” in space. Kardashian suggested that this was proof the moon landing was a hoax.

“I’m going to do a big deep dive,” Paulson replied to Kardashian’s comments.

Later in the episode, Kardashian elaborated on her belief that the moon landing was “fake.” She mentioned having seen videos of Aldrin suggesting it didn’t happen and expressed her intention to find him.

However, previous claims that Aldrin refuted the moon landing have been debunked.

Kardashian raised questions such as, “The moon has no gravity; why does the flag blow?” She even pointed out that the lunar boots displayed in museums have different prints compared to what is seen in photos. “Why are there no stars?” she added.

Though she acknowledged that some might consider her beliefs “crazy,” she encouraged others to research and “see for yourself” on platforms like TikTok.

Shortly after Duffy’s post, Kardashian responded with a question about 3I/ATLAS, an interstellar comet currently near the sun. Duffy explained the comet and invited her to the launch of NASA’s Artemis mission in 2026. “I’m so happy to see everyone’s excitement about Artemis’ mission to the moon,” he said, adding, “You are officially invited to launch at Kennedy Space Center!”
