Erika Kirk Opens Up After Husband’s Tragic Death

During her first interview since the tragic assassination of her husband, conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Erika Kirk struggled to hold back tears. This emotional moment happened while she was speaking on Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime.”

In the segment, host Jesse Watters shared a video clip featuring Charlie discussing Turning Point USA, the organization he founded to support the conservative student movement.

“Wow, you look great,” Erika remarked while watching the video. “Sorry, just a second. This is the longest video of his I’ve seen.”

Watters also became emotional during the conversation and brought up Charlie’s mission to “save Western civilization,” asking Erika if she was aware that this was what she had committed to.

“Well, no, I haven’t registered anything,” Erika replied thoughtfully. “I just married the love of my life.”

This interview is Erika’s first televised appearance since her husband’s tragic death at the young age of 31 on September 10, 2025, during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University.

Authorities have charged 22-year-old Tyler Robinson of Utah with first-degree murder related to the incident.

Charlie Kirk established Turning Point USA in 2012, gaining prominence in the MAGA movement through his podcast and appearances at various Republican events nationwide.

The full emotional conversation will air on Wednesday, followed by a multi-part documentary series on Fox Nation two days later, exploring Charlie’s influential legacy, the role of faith in their lives, the events of that fateful day, and the future of Turning Point USA.

Erika recently made a public appearance at the University of Mississippi, more commonly known as Ole Miss, where she delivered a heartfelt tribute to her late husband. This was her return to the Turning Point USA campus since the tragedy.

A video memorial for Charlie elicited a strong emotional response from her, prompting Erika to comment, “It’s hard to hold back tears after watching it. I haven’t seen that video since that day happened.”

She added, “For me, being on campus right now is about reclaiming territory mentally.” Erika reflected on the realities of grief, stating, “The more we understand the permanence of this nightmare, the more we begin to realize that the enemy doesn’t want you. He wants your territory, your influence.” She then recalled Charlie’s encouraging words: “He wants you to take back that territory, baby. It’s a battle that the love of God conquers. That’s why I’m here today.”
