Eagles bring Jaire Alexander in from Ravens

Jaire Alexander Joins the Philadelphia Eagles in a Trade

The Philadelphia Eagles have officially acquired Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander from the Baltimore Ravens in a trade that took place on Sunday, just before the deadline.

In exchange for Alexander and a seventh-round pick in 2027, the Eagles sent a sixth-round pick for 2026 to the Ravens. Both franchises confirmed the transaction.

The 28-year-old Alexander was in his first season with the Ravens, having spent the previous seven years with the Green Bay Packers before entering free agency.

A two-time Pro Bowl selection, Alexander earned his spots in 2020 and 2022. However, injuries and variable performances have affected his play recently. Notably, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson didn’t participate in the last game, where the team managed to defeat the Miami Dolphins.

For this season, Alexander has only played in two games, facing the Buffalo Bills and the Houston Texans, where he recorded five tackles. Over his career, he now has 292 total tackles and 12 interceptions.

As for the Eagles, they currently hold a 6-2 record. Their defense is currently ranked 18th in goals conceded, which is a bit concerning. It seems Alexander will be joining the Eagles’ practice squad shortly, especially since the team is on a bye week during Week 9.

In other news, the Eagles have also placed safety Marcus Epps and linebacker Azeez Ojulari on injured reserve. It’s an interesting time in the NFL as the trade deadline approaches on Tuesday at 4 PM ET.
