Cartoonist Scott Adams Appeals for Help with Cancer Treatment
Scott Adams, the creator of the comic strip “Dilbert,” shared on social media that he intends to reach out to former President Donald Trump to assist him in scheduling cancer treatment that he believes will help extend his life. Earlier this year, Adams disclosed that his prostate cancer has spread.
In his post, he stated that his health care provider, Kaiser Permanente in Northern California, has approved his request for the new FDA-approved drug, Purvict. However, he expressed frustration, noting, “They dropped the ball when scheduling me to administer a simple IV, and they can’t seem to fix it. My decline is progressing rapidly.”
In his post, he said, “I’m going to ask President Trump if he could respond to Kaiser in Northern California and schedule it for Monday. That would give me a fighting chance to stay on this earth a little longer. This is not a cure, but it will have positive outcomes for a lot of people.”
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. replied to Adams’ viral post, asking how he could provide assistance. “The President wants help,” RFK Jr. commented.
Dan Scavino, White House Chief of Staff, also responded to Adams, indicating that it might be better to wait until Monday, saying, “Until then, it’s not necessary.”
In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel in May, Adams mentioned that he experiences pain daily and has been relying on a walker for several months. He candidly stated, “If you’re wondering if I’m ever going to get better, the answer is no. It’s only going to get worse. There is only one direction to go.”
According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, making it the second leading cause of cancer death among American men, following lung cancer.
