Cam Little Makes NFL History

Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little made a significant mark in NFL history on Sunday.

He achieved a record-breaking 68-yard field goal just before halftime in the game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

During this moment, Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence completed an 18-yard pass to wide receiver Parker Washington. Instead of attempting a long Hail Mary, head coach Liam Cohen chose the field goal option, a decision that proved to be wise as Jacksonville led at halftime.

This remarkable kick slightly surpassed the previous record held by former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, who made a 66-yard field goal in September 2021. That kick was pivotal in a Ravens win over the Detroit Lions.

Earlier this season, Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Chase McLaughlin also made headlines with a 65-yard field goal against the Philadelphia Eagles, putting him second all-time behind Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey. Interestingly, Aubrey had a notable run for 64 yards against the New York Giants just this season.

Little is no stranger to long-distance kicks; he surprised fans by making a 70-yard field goal during the preseason. However, during the regular season, eight kickers attempted kicks from 70 yards but missed. Perhaps that record could be within reach for Little in the future.

At halftime, Las Vegas was ahead 6-3, with Raiders tight end Brock Bowers catching a touchdown pass from quarterback Geno Smith.
