Dakota Meyer Teams Up for Women’s Sports Advocacy
Dakota Meyer, a father to two Medal of Honor recipients, has recently stepped into the arena of women’s sports advocacy. This past Monday, he announced a partnership with XX-XY Athletics, where he will serve as their “Ultimate Girl Dad” brand ambassador.
In a statement, Meyer emphasized the importance of standing up for truth and the need for men to respect and support women. “Weak men are rewriting the truth. True men will stand up to protect the truth,” he said, adding, “Women are not weak. Women are sacred.” He argued that masculinity and femininity both deserve respect and should be seen as equally important.
This initiative goes beyond just the brand; Meyer described it as a “line in the sand,” indicating a commitment to quality gear while also promoting a belief in healthy expressions of strength. The creator of XX-XY Athletics, former USA National Team gymnast Jennifer Sey, aims to provide a sports company that aligns with athletes who value equity in women’s sports.
Notably, Meyer is not alone in this endeavor. Several male athletes, including basketball player Jabulani Newby and boxer Jeff Watters, have joined him in supporting XX-XY Athletics.
