WWE's leader hints at what's coming for 'Monday Night Raw'

WWE Champions Crowned Amidst New Landscape

WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, hinted at significant changes within the organization following Saturday’s main event, where two new champions were crowned. His social media post, made just before Monday Night Raw, focused on CM Punk, who recently won the vacant World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso.

“Anything can happen on a Saturday night in WWE,” Levesque stated, adding, “Four high-stakes matches…two new world champions crowned…and a historic announcement on December 13th…” He emphasized that a new era for WWE begins tonight on Raw.

CM Punk’s journey back to the top has been marked by challenges. After returning to WWE in 2023, he faced an injury, but persevered to reclaim his title. He held the World Heavyweight Championship briefly at SummerSlam, only to lose it when Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. In addition to Punk, another championship changed hands at the same event.

Cody Rhodes Receives the Torch

John Cena passed the torch to Cody Rhodes as he regained the WWE Championship at SummerSlam.

In another notable match, Jade Cargill defeated Tiffany Stratton to claim the WWE Women’s Championship, showcasing her strength and taking advantage of Stratton’s noticeable knee issue throughout the match. This victory marks Cargill’s first singles title since joining WWE.

Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre, while Dominik Mysterio successfully defended the Intercontinental Championship in a triple threat match against Penta and Rusev.

With just four days left in his WWE career, John Cena made waves with an announcement about a 16-man tournament to determine his final opponent. The tournament kicks off next Monday, with competitors to be randomly selected.

“On the last day, I want to face someone who is going to step up and seize the same opportunity I had on my first day,” Cena shared in a promotional video. His final appearance is set for December 13th in Washington.
