Beau and Luke Duke are reaching out to their cousin Daisy.
The stars of “Dukes of Hazzard,” including Katherine Bach, have shown their support for actress Daisy Duke, who is currently in the hospital due to a concerning health issue.
Former Beau Duke actor John Schneider shared an update, saying: “Hey Dukes of Hazzard family! I sent an email to Katherine, and she got back to me really quick.” This was posted on Facebook on October 30th.
“Yes, she’s in the hospital, but she told me she’s doing okay,” Schneider, 65, continued. “She really appreciates our prayers and is sorry she can’t travel this weekend. We love you, Katherine!”
Tom Wopat, who portrayed Luke Duke throughout the series’ seven seasons, also expressed his support. On Instagram on October 31st, he said, “Tom and the Wopat Web Crew are sending heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Kathryn Bach, who has recently been hospitalized,” along with a nostalgic photo of them together.
“We wish her peace and a full and speedy recovery,” he added.
Ben Jones, known for his role as mechanic Cooter Davenport from 1979 to 1985, was the first to confirm that Bach, now 71, had been hospitalized.
In a Facebook post last week, the 84-year-old actor-turned-politician mentioned that Bach had been “emergency admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles.”
He revealed that she had experienced an “embolism” likely linked to recent surgery.
“We will keep you posted. Katherine will share her story as soon as she recovers,” he noted in a Facebook post that has since been removed. “She is truly sorry to have to cancel her appearance at Cooter’s this weekend,” Jones and his wife Alma added. “Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.”
Cooter’s Place, where Jones operates a series of museums and gift shops themed around “Dukes of Hazzard,” was supposed to host a movie night featuring Bach in Nashville, Tennessee, this past Saturday. However, the establishment announced on Facebook that her event had been canceled “due to unforeseen circumstances.”
“Katherine and Cooter’s Place apologize for any inconvenience caused,” the message read. “We’ll make adjustments and announce a new schedule as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.”
The newspaper has reached out to Bach’s representatives for comment.
Bach portrayed Daisy Duke from the show’s debut in 1979 to its conclusion in 1985.
Even after 140 episodes and 40 years since the show ended, she takes pride in the character that popularized the Daisy Duke shorts.
“It’s amazing that we can still entertain people so long after the show, especially with it being a hit on Amazon now,” Bach said in a past interview. “That’s what this show is all about: bringing joy to people.”
“I’ve experienced a lot since then, but this role continues to resonate with everyone,” she added at that time. “It makes me proud, and I genuinely look forward to connecting with fans.”
